Outcome and Objectives
Outcome:
In this course students will become familiar with the content of the Old Testament and learn to see Jesus at it’s center. Specific attention will be given to the flow of the biblical story and its major themes.
Objectives:
- Students will understand the chronology, structures, and themes of the Old Testament. This includes seeing how Old Testament narratives reveal God’s hand in Israel’s history
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of the Old Testament, being able to recall and identify key people, events and dates
- Students will grasp the missional value of the Old Testament and appreciate its relationship with the New Testament
Course Schedule
Please use this schedule as a guide as you work through the Old Testament course. You will need to complete the following modules at a minimum each week, but are welcome to work ahead as far as you’d like.
Week 1 (1/8) – Module 1-2 (2.2 hrs)
Week 2 (1/15) – Module 3-4 (3.1 hrs)
Week 3 (1/22) – Module 5-6 (2.5 hrs)
Week 4 (1/29) – Module 7-8 (3.3 hrs)
Week 5 (2/5) – Module 9-10 (1.7 hrs)
